What information is needed for Rescheck?

In order to create a Rescheck report, I’ll need floor plans of the house that include the measurements of all exterior walls and the size and location of all windows and exterior doors.

If you don’t have official floor plans, you can always create a hand drawing (as shown on this drawing), but I urge you to double-check all measurements as people often miscalculate the measurements. In this case, Graph paper will be your best friend.

I’ll also need to know the IECC Code Year and the Insulation values of the ceiling, walls, and floors.

If you don’t know this information or don’t have a preference, I’ll make an educated guess or give you a recommendation.

What’s included in the Rescheck package?

Energy efficiency code compliance certificate. This certificate determines whether newly built homes, additions, and alterations meet the requirements of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) or the National Energy Code.

What information is needed to start?

A drawing of the house with the size of all exterior walls, dimensions (WxH) of all windows and exterior doors, insulation values, address, and a filled price quote form.

What's the delivery time?

The delivery time is most often 2 days, with the exception of very big projects. Once I review your file, I'll send you a price quote, which will include the delivery time, and it's guaranteed that I'll deliver on time or early.
*The delivery time starts from the time the invoice is paid.

Will my building department accept the Rescheck forms you send?

The majority of the United States uses Rescheck to show compliance. However, some states allow REScheck use by county or jurisdiction rather than statewide, so please confirm with your Local Municipality what their requirements are. For a list of states that accept Rescheck, click Here.

What software do you use?

I use the ACCA-certified “Wrightsoft” program, which I find to be the most accurate and detailed on the market.

What’s the difference between Rescheck and Manual J?

Rescheck measures the suitability of your building’s insulation envelope against your local climate zone and gives you a pass or fail score. Manual J measures the building envelope versus the climate zone and gives you sensible heat gain, latent heat gain, and total heat loss.
